IBERIAN LINX (Linx pardinus)


In our first article, we want to show you some photos of iberian linx. They have been taken in the "Sierra de Andújar", Andalusia. In this moment, this place is its paradise.
In hot summer days, the wild cat look for shadows.





In winter, between December and January is the mating season.






The Iberian linx is a wild cat native to the Iberian Peninsula. It preys of European rabbit. The iberian linx population declined because myxomatosis and other diseases that caused the decline in the rabbits population. It is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List. The EU LIFE project is attempting to save this especie from extinction. The conservation mesures include improving habitat, restocking of rabbits and re-introducing Iberian linx. For this reason, the linx population has increased in recent years.
