BEARDED VULTURE/LAMMERGEIER (Gypaetus barbatus)

Today we want to show you one of the jewells of our Pyrenees:
The Bearded Vulture or Lammergeier (Gypaetus barbatus).

Our main character despite his orange appearance, really is white. He takes this color with                   ferruginous water baths.
Here, some pictures of coloured adults.

When it flies, is the sky's king.

But it will need about seven years or more to show off this aspect.

In this picture, it's a year old.

On the second year it looks like these.

    Immature third year.

    Immature with adult.
    Immature interacting with a vulture.

    Subadult four years old.

Imperfect adults, from five or six years.
